Technical Opinion & Report as required by Fire Marshal
REi® provides evaluation of buildings on-site for compliance with applicable Building and Fire Codes. We survey the site to collect required information for the Technical Opinion & Report, based on approved Code of Record, current occupancy, storage layout, amounts of hazardous materials, commodity classification, square footage of storage areas, building construction and other factors as applicable. The Report addresses compliance options including storage configuration, sprinkler protection requirements, adequacy of existing sprinkler protection, spill and secondary containment requirements and calculations, safety ventilation requirements and calculations, high pile storage requirements, determination of requirements for fire department access doors, fire apparatus access road, hazard signage, and other factors as applicable.

Permitting, including HAZMAT & Certificate of Occupancy
REi® prepares project documents, assists in coordination with other engineering services as necessary to complete submittal package, and submits project documents to the Building Department and Fire Marshal’s Office for review.

Code Analysis

Outdoor Storage Area and Tank Farm Evaluation
REi® reviews outdoor storage of products, including tank farms, noting required compliance; including set back requirements, containment, fire apparatus access roads, emergency venting calculations, and other factors as applicable.

Development of Hazardous Materials Inventory Statements (HMIS)
We prepare HMIS based on Manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheets, referenced properties of chemicals, and reported storage (open and closed use amounts) as required by Fire Code.

Inspections of Fire Protection Systems
REi® provides inspections of fire protection systems to assure compliance with the requirements of both the Fire Marshal and NFPA Standards. We witness tests of fire pumps, standpipe systems, private and public water supplies, and fire alarms systems. We present and interpret the test results, and offer recommendations for compliance.

AutoCAD drawings, including High Pile Storage Plans
REi® prepares fire protection drawings consisting of site plan, high pile storage drawings detailing required access doors, access roads sprinkler protection, storage arrangement, and other factors as required.
